Diabetic Retinopathy
Since this is only common in diabetics it is surprising that 25% of diabetics have some degree of retinopathy. This occurs when the blood vessels that nourish the retina, weaken and leak. A person will normally begin to notice blurred vision. When retinopathy becomes more advanced the retina tears, can detach and can result in total blindness.
